Prof. LANNIN Natasha
ABOUT HER

Professor Natasha Lannin completed her PhD investigating the physiological mechanisms and clinical effectiveness of stretch at Western Sydney University and a postdoctoral fellowship with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. Professor Lannin now leads the Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation Research Group in the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Professor Lannin has over 20 years of experience directing large teams to develop and implement both large-scale clinical trials and longitudinal studies, seeking to improve the lives of adults with neurological conditions.  She has mentored more than 20 postdoctoral fellows and 5 MD Fellows, and consistently mentors clinical residents and health professionals at Alfred Health in the departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, and Neurology. Professor Lannin’s overall focus is to employ healthcare innovations in translational neuroscience research to develop and enhance the current therapeutic approaches to provide evidence-based treatments to all. During the Covid pandemic, she established a vocational rehabilitation program addressing the cognitive, physical and mental health challenges faced by this population. The Alfred Health Covid Clinic is now Melbourne’s only government-funded rehabilitation program for patients suffering the long-term effects of Covid.
